A concrete mold can be made of various types of materials. The one you decide to use depends on the project you will be doing. The most important factors to consider are the area,the size of the job, and what look you are interested in.

 

There are basicly two types of molds you can us.

Advantages - Latex Mold.

  1. It is a one component substance that can be used the minute that it comes out of the container.
  2. There is little or no preparation work needed.
  3. You can spend more time on the design of your project, not on preparation.

Disadvantages - Latex Mold.

  1. They can shrink in size.
  2. They can take a long time to dry.
  3. You cannot do the concrete work the same day you make the mold.

Advantages - Polysulfide Rubber.

  1. Very long lasting.
  2. Forming is easy because it is stretchable.
  3. Is the favorite of the industry.

Disadvantages - Polysulfide Rubber.

  1. It is a two part system.
  2. Has a very strong, offensive odor.
